Shanty town on the Petite Ceinture

Not far away where the local hipsters from Paris has landed on the 18 arr part of the Petite Ceinture with their gardens, urban farm, cafe and recycle store another use of the abandoned railtracks was recently discovered

Only a few hundred metres away from the Gare Ornano (Recyclerie), hidden behind a large metro ticket booth, a migrant camp has taken shape. With shacks made from wooden boards and sheets of plastic, and with numerous pans covering holes in case of rain, this 500-metre section of track is home to an estimated 350 people.
